Prof. Sumita went to Wageningen University, Netherlands to pursue a course on ‘Market Access for Food Security’

Prof. Sumita Sindhi attended a 3 week course from 11 January – 30 January 2016 on ‘Market Access for Food Security’ at Wageningen University, Netherlands. The course discussed about market mechanism and how to make markets work for poor and for inclusive growth. Taking market trends as a given, and a dynamic market environment as a basis for sustainable development, this course examined the dos and don’ts of market-led development that is both smallholder inclusive and pro-poor. The course was based on the principles of Reflexive learning, competence based learning and modern approach to outreach.
