Shubham Mehta, Alumni Batch 2010-12, visited Brazil as delegation member from India on “Natural Resource Management, Climate Change & Sustainable Agriculture.”
Mr. Shubham Mehta, Alumni of 2010-12 nominated by National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development (NABARD) in a delegation visited Brazil from 16.08.2015 to 29.08.2014 in coordination with World Resource Institute (WRI). The main objectives of Indian Mission to Brazil, was to exchange best practices and experience in “Natural Resource Management, Climate Change & Sustainable Agriculture in the Semi Arid Regions of Brazil and India” The delegation under the leadership of Dr. R. M. Kummur, Chief General Manager, Farm Sector Policy Department, NABARD, Head Office, Mumbai, visited many institutions and projects on Natural Resource Management, Sustainable Agriculture and Climate Change that are being implemented by various agencies in the Semi Arid Regions of Brazil. During this exchange programme Mr. Shubham presented experiences on “Watershed approach for Natural Resource Management & Climate Change Adaptation from Indo German Watershed Development Projects” being implemented in Gujarat, India by Gramin Vikas Trust with the support from NABARD & Kfw Germany. He also took part in dialogues and discussions with various government and non government agencies in Brazil for collaboration on Water Governance, mainstreaming Climate Change Adaptation Strategies in Agriculture and Rural development projects, Community Based Natural Resource Management, Stakeholder Engagement in Environmental Management and Sustainable Development.
