Prof. Sumita Sindhi presented a paper titled ‘What drives Corporate Environmental Responsibility? Case of mining company in Odisha, India’ at the biannual conference organized by ISEE (International Society of Ecological Economics) and hosted by University of Iceland, Reykjavik from 13-15 August 2014. The theme of the conference was ‘Wellbeing and Equity within Planetary Boundaries’.
The case study in the paper describes the stakeholder influence on mining company to perform their Corporate Environmental Responsibility. It is seen that majorly market forces/cognitive forces influence organizations to comply with environmental rules and regulations. Normative concerns matter least for organizations.
